Exfoliate with Care.

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog!

So, today i am going to talk you through about exfoliating. It is the step that you do after cleansing and it is very important to exfoliate your skin. I am going to tell you guys how to do it right.

So, after you have washed your face, its time to exfoliate.
What is Exfoliation?

Exfoliating involves the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the skin's outermost surface. Exfoliation is involved in the process of all facials, during microdermabrasion, or chemical peels at medical spas. It can also be done at home with ease by exfoliating products.

Why Exfoliate?
Exfoliation deeply cleanses our skin.
Smoothens  and refines your skin giving it a radiant glow.
Prevents pre-mature ageing.

You can exfoliate by using a brush or by using a facial scrub. Exfoliating helps prevent premature ageing. It treats/heals sun damage, acne, blackheads and whiteheads.

Make sure that you know your skin type before you exfoliate. Your skin type and the strength of the treatment method determines how often you should exfoliate. If you have very sensitive skin, you must limit your exfoliation and use a mild treatment. If you have oily/combination skin which is acne prone, then you can use a heavy treatment with more granules.

You can of course exfoliate in winter. some people may think that it may make our skin dry and flakey, but exfoliating only removes the dead skin cells. During winter, exfoliation can be limited but not omitted. Use a good moisture after you exfoliate.

Some women feel that since it removes your dead skin cells, "the more, the better". This isn't actually true. Exfoliating everyday or too often is not required. Especially for women with too oily or too dry skin. If you scrub off the surface layer of dead skin too often, your body will overcompensate by producing more oil or becoming even drier.

Some feel that scrubbing dry is more effective. ( Seriously, i used to feel and do the same) Scrubbing your dry face is not  very good idea. Like any other effort meant to supercharge your exfoliation efforts ( and results) this leads to all kinds of damage. It's painful to even think about it. Always make sure that you've got water in the mix when you exfoliate.

Exfoliation also fades away your tan in the long run. But, if you want to detan, excessive scrubbing is not the solution. You don't need to scrub more than twice a week. Maximum thrice. If you have very dry skin, then once a week is enough  and you're good to go.

Don't forget to exfoliate you're neck, because you're neck shows the first signs of ageing. It is important to exfoliate to prevent the fine lines on your neck.

Make sure that you do not put too much pressure while you exfoliate as it may cause redness and it is so painful.

If you are very sensitive to using chemical products then you can make your own scrub using the ingredients which you can easily find in your kitchen.

Sugar Lemon Scrub.
Slice a lemon into half and dip it into a bowl of sugar and rub it on your face gently. The sugar acts as an exfoliant while the lemon brightens your skin up.

Coffee scrub.
After taking the coffee decoction out, you can use the coffee's powdery paste(i don't know what that's called :P) directly. Coffee is a great scrub. It tightens your skin and also reduces cellulite, so not just on the face, but you can use this on any part of you body.

One last thing, exfoliate regularly, but not daily.

That's it! :D
That's all I know about exfoliating :P
