Review: Lacto Calamine Skin Balance Daily Nourishing Lotion; Oil Control

Hi Guys, Welcome back to my blog.Today I am going to do another review. Since it is already very hot, oily skinned beauties are looking for something to do a great job of oil control. One product that has worked for me which is affordable and almost available everywhere is the 
''Lacto Calamine Skin Balance Daily Nourishing Lotion; Oil Control".

Ingredients:
Aqua, Light Kaolin, Castor Oil,Glycerin, Zinc oxide, Zinc carbonate, Emulsifiers, Preservatives, Perfumes and permitted Colours.

Price; Rs 144/- for 120 ml.

My skin is very oily especially in the summer. My T-zone feels as if fries were made on my face. It feels very oily to touch. So I was looking for moisturizers which were oil-free. That is when I found this. So I ordered it and it worked pretty well. It does have castor oil in it but it did not cause me any acne. I already have acne prone skin and in-fact it does reduce the acne in time. It doesn't dry out the skin as well. Coming to the most important claim which is the oil control, yes it does control oil for a pretty descent time. You skin will feel fresh through out the day. This also acts as a very good makeup base. You will get a little oily by mid day, then you might need to blot the oil. I wish this had sunscreen in it. Then we would not have use greasy sunscreens on top of this. But on its own, it works as a very good oil controlling lotion. When used twice daily, on a regular basis, it does reduce acne in the long run.
Overall this is a very good lotion for everyday use in the summer. You don't need this in the winter. In the winter, my skin gets dry and patchy. So if you have dry skin, then stay away from this. However, if you have an oil factory like mine :p, then this is really good. You can give it a try. Smaller bottles are available at a much cheaper price. This can also be applied to the face to reduce any rash. It works for some people. But for some, it makes the rash even worse. But it is a really good oil controlling lotion and makeup base for the summer only.

Affordable.
Available almost everywhere.
Controls oil for a decent amount of time.
Does not dry out the skin.
Can be used as a makeup base.
Reduces acne.
Zinc oxide which does give a little sun protection.

Cons
No SPF :(
It has castor oil which might not be suitable for some people.
(However, did not cause me any acne)

I would recommend this to people with oily to combination skin in the summer. If you have very oily skin even in the winter,you can use it all year round. Otherwise, this a perfect summer lotion.

How to take care of your skin this summer.

Hi Guys, Welcome back to my blog. 

So, the days are getting really hot and humid, and it is getting very hard for us. So today i thought that I should write about ways to take care of your skin in the summer because you're going to be sweating a lot and this is the time that most people with oily skin are going to face the worst skin days. So, keep reading to know How to take care of your skin this summer.







As the summer keeps getting hotter every year, we tend to sweat a lot more, and have our own new skin issues. So avoid having a disaster on your skin, follow these steps.



1. Cleanse. This may seem like something that is told very often, but most people skip this step. You should cleanse your skin at least 2-3 times a day. Once in the morning and once in the night is a must. You don't wanna wake up and have that oily skin for the rest of the day, neither you want to sleep with all the bacteria you've collected throughout the day. So do cleanse your skin twice or thrice, every single day.






2. Exfoliate. Very Important to do this summer because you have accumulated blackheads and others issues on your skin because of the sun, oil and sweating. Do exfoliate at least twice a week. Use a gentle exfoliating face scrub. Also, do not forget to exfoliate your body. You can buy one at the stores or make your own. Just cut a lemon in half, dip it in sugar and then just scrub your body. You can use this on your face too.






3. Tone. Tone you're face using a gentle and a natural toner. Personally, I feel That aloe vera gel or rose water are the best. Look for natural toners as you don't want to use harsh chemicals in this hat weather.Look for god brands like The Body shop, Kama Ayurveda, etc.






4. Face Mask. These are essential because they help in cooling the skin. Again. go for natural ones instead of chemical based ones. Himalaya and Banjaras make some amazing face masks which do not have any harsh chemicals and they work really well in cooling down the skin. Use a face mask once or twice a week without fail. 



5. Peel-off mask. Along with the normal face mask, you should use a peel of mask once in a while if you have oily skin. Peel off masks are great because they peel all the dead skin cells from your skin and peeling is a very satisfying feeling.(Din't mean to rhyme). So do use it once in a while. Maybe once or twice a week because they are very less messy. If you don't have very oily skin, you need not use them very frequently.

6. Moisturizer. It is a must. Even if you have oily skin, you must use a moisturizer twice daily without fail. In the summer, look for lighter ones. You do not need thick moisturizers in the summer because it is going to be humid. Although, if you live in a place where it is very dry even in the summer, then you can use the same one as you have been using in the winter.
However, if you have very very oily skin, then i would recommend a gel based moisturizing sunscreen. In that way you do not have to have layers of skin care on your face. If you live in very humid place, then use an oil controlling lotion. My personal favorite is Lacto Calamine. A review of it will be coming soon hopefully. :)






7. Sunscreen. If you're not using this, then don't even think about your skin. If you have spent a lot of time and money for pampering your skin, then you should definitely protect it from the sun as sun causes around 80% of skin problems. In the summer it is going to be straight on you, so to avoid skin problems and cancer, do use a sunscreen every single day without fail. Even if it is cloudy, you should use a sunscreen. 8. Hydration. Drink lots and lots of water to keep yourself hydrated in the summer. Not drinking enough water can cause your skin and your body a lot of problems. That is why people say that drinking more water can solve most of the problems. So keep drinking water and stay hydrated .



Follow these  steps to have perfect skin in the summer and also will assure you clear skin in 10 days.

Review: Neutrogena Ultra sheer Dry Touch SPF 50 sunscreen

Hello everyone, Welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to be doing another review. I am going to review the ''Neutrogena Ultra sheer Dry Touch SPF 50 sunscreen.''

I live in a very hot and humid place,so i was looking for something which had high SPF and is not greasy. I was suggested to use this by many people, so I ordered this. Keep reading to know how i felt about it.




Product Description
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 50+ PA+++ with Helioplex is a break through in sun protection. Stabilized with Helioplex, it provides superior blanced borad-spectrum protection against against skin-aging UVA and burning UVB rays, and combines it with Dry touch technology for an ultra light, non shiny finish. This lightweight sunblock has a light fresh scent and is gentle enough for even sensitive skin.

* Waterproof, sweatproof, resists rub off
*Non-Comedogenic (won't clog pores)
* Oil free and PABA free

Ultra lighy clean feel.

Directions

Apply liberally on face and body 15-30 minutes before sun exposure. For added protection. reapply after swimming, towel drying or extended sun exposure.



This is sunscreen is really good. It has SPF 50 and it protects my skin from the sun for a very long time.  Even in mid afternoons when i got out and stand under the sun for long time, I do not get sunburn. Most of the people I know felt that it is very sheer and not oily. However, i felt that it is a little bit greasy. My skin doesn't feel good touch when i have this on. For sometime my skin gets that weird ''i want to wash my face'' feel, but later it feels fine. But still, it just sits on your skin and moves your makeup. It is not that sheer. That's how i felt. That's is also why most people skip sunscreen. This one is really great. It is not very oily. It is just a bit greasy and sits on your skin and doesn't feel good to touch your skin. However, it protects your skin for a really long time and does not cause any acne. So far this is the best sunscreen i have used. It would be my favorite product if it was more matte/sheer. I use this every single day. This has that one drawback, but I love it.

Gives long lasting sun protection.
Does not cause break outs.
No white casting.
Waterproof.

Cons
A little bit greasy on my skin.

How to stay Fit and Healthy.

 Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today i am going to write about something different. Something that I never wrote till now. I will be talking about fitness today.



 There are so many of us out there who want to get fit. We start exercising and dieting. But are you doing it the right way? Are you not loosing weight even though you are exercising? Is dieting not helping?  You are probably doing it the wrong way. Here are few things that I've know through experience and through other people. Keep reading to know more.


1. Diet. You should never skip your meals. Dieting doesn't mean to stop eating. It means eat right. Never skip your breakfast. It is very important. Have oatmeal or pancakes or toast. Anything which is not unhealthy should be taken as breakfast. Nutritional food is the best. Have a heavy breakfast. Have lunch in moderate amounts and a light dinner. In between meals, have a little snack like a smoothie or a fruit or green tea. Keep eating nuts like pistachios and almonds in between meals. Do not eat junk food. If you ever get strong cravings for junk food, you can have a little but. But make sure to burn those extra calories later in the gym. To control your cravings, do meditation. You can control your body only if you control your mind. If you want to eat chocolate, go ahead. You can eat it once a month. Go for dark chocolate. It is way better and good for your skin.



2. Exercise. You must work out. Just dieting wont help. Do cardio for 30 mins and  aerobics for 15-30 mins. At least one hour a day is a must. If you can, work out twice every day. One hour in the morning and one hour in the night, if you have the time.  But make sure to work out. It is very important. You can do stationary bike or step machine or just go for a brisk walk. Do intense yoga(breathing exercise) and meditation. Exercise in the morning gives positive results. If you don't have the time, then do it in the evening or night. Something is better than nothing.  Never skip your workout. If you and stop suddenly, then chances you will get fat. So don't stop it once you've started. Do a little everyday.



3. Drink Water. I keep talking bout this every time. Drinking more water is very essential. Always keep yourself hydrated.  Drink lots and lots of water. Drink two glasses of water when you wake up and two glasses before every meal. This way you will feel full and eat less and detox your body as well.


4. Be more active. Don't be lazy.  Always be active. Take the stairs always and walk for shorter distances. Walk more when you are doing anything. Walk while talking on the phone. Do not sit continuously for more tan 45 minutes. Stand up and stretch once in while. Do house work, help your mom. This way you'll walk more.



Once you get used to all this, no one can stop you. You cannot achieve anything without hard work.

5. Get Enough sleep. We all know that we don't have time to sleep. But it is very important to get enough sleep. Sleep at least 6-7 hours a day. If you can, sleep for 8 hours. I know that most of us do not have time for that. But at least a 6 hour sound sleep is a must.



6. Avoid Stress. Stress causes a lot of problems and makes you unhealthy. Stress is the worst junk. You can be happy when you stop caring about the world. Everyday, do something that you love. My favorite youtuber Alfie, aka PointlessBlog(subscribe) always says to do what we love.

So be happy. You only live once. So live for yourself and not for others. :D





General tips.

*It is said that if you get cravings, you brains starts to eat itself. So you can have your favorite food once in a while.

*Doing the same exercise for a long time won't help. Always keep changing you workouts.

*You can do stationary bike some days, step machine and brisk walking for 30 mins.

*For upper body, do push ups and planks for few days, and later on do chair dips and arms swings.

*Do skipping once in a while. It makes you more active and works out the whole body.
