Beginners Makeup Kit Essentials.

Hello Everybody! Welcome back to my blog!

So, today I am going to share a list of things which are basically makeup essentials for beginners to makeup and are confused. When I was new to makeup, I was quite confused and did not know what to get, so I thought that this would be helpful to all the young girls who are new to makeup.

1. Powder Foundation.

It is best to start with a powder foundation rather than a cream/liquid foundation, because your skin might take some time to get used to the makeup. Buy a powder foundation that matches your skin. You have plenty of options in the high-end and drugstore, so there is plenty to choose from. Pick something that you can afford and matches your skin texture, the weather of your area and everything else. Get a compact one as it is easy to carry around and is easy to use and is travel friendly.

2. Concealer/BB Cream.

If you have acne, then you can use a concealer or if you have a little bit of uneven skin, then just use a little bit of a tinted moisturizer o a BB cream. If your skin doesn't have these issues, as most young skins do not, you can completely skip this. Again you can get both affordable and slightly higher-end options in this. Just dot a little bit of BB cream all over your face and blend. A little goes a long way. If you want to use a concealer, use a little bit under the eyes in the shape of an inverted triangle, a little bit around the nose and mouth and bridge of your nose, and also anywhere else where you might wanna cover up a little.

3. Eyebrow pencil/Gel.

Eyebrows frame the face. Invest in a good quality eyebrow pencil and fill your brows if they are sparse. If your eyebrows are naturally thick and bushy, then just groom them and set them with a tinted/clear brow gel. This will make sure that they stay in place. You can also get eyebrow powders if you want it to look natural. Always go for a natural brown and never use black.  If you have lighter hair, then go for an ashy blonde. Always fill your eyebrows before leaving the house. This makes a lot of difference.

4. Eyeliner/kohl.

It is good to have an eye liner or a kohl. It all depend on personal preference when it comes to this. Usually liquid liners are a bit glossy and kohls are more matte and natural. Or you can use liquid liner if you want to have cat eyes. You can have both and rock any kind of a look. How you want your eyeliner to be is completely personal, you can have a sleek line or a smokey line or winged liner or a single stroked line. It is good to have both as you can experiment and rock a different look everyday. Eyeliner can be applied on the lash-line whereas kohls can be applied on both lash-line and water line.

5. Mascara.

This is the most important step. Never leave the house without mascara. Even if you have naturally long and curly lashes, use a little bit. It makes a lot of difference. When you absolutely have not time to do any makeup in the morning for school/college/work, just do a double coat of mascara on the top and bottom lashes and run the remaining product on to your brows, and you are ready for the day. :) Trust me, this will make your eyes look more awake and make your face look fresh. Mascara makes all the difference. ''Makeup is never complete without mascara.'' Or in this case, "Just the mascara can complete your makeup".

6. Lipbalm/lipgloss/lipstick.

This is again personal preference, but I would suggest to go for a tinted lipbalm or a gloss for beginners rather a lipstick. Again, it all depends on the look you are going for and how intense you want it to look. Invest in a good selection of pinky nudes and peaches.
In case of a lipbalm, look for something that has SPF in it for added sun protection :)

7. Eye shadow.

If you want to wear eye shadow, invest in a good nude pallet. But I have to be honest with you and tell you that blending eye shadows takes a lot of practice and the right brushes. So you might wanna get this later, or just go for one nude eye shadow color to hide the veins on your eyes..

8. Blusher/bronzer/highlight.

Get a good palette which has a nice peachy blush, a contour shade and a highlight shade. This can really add some dimension and some depth to your face. Such 3 in 1 palettes are made by many brands, easily available, very affordable and perfect for beginners. Remember; Less is More when it comes to blusher, bronzer and highlight. So pick sublte shades and go with a light hand.

9. Makeup Brush kit.

Invest in a good brush kit because not every makeup can be applied using hands. You will need brushes for blushes and eyeshadows. There are many brands in drugstore and high-end options that make basic brush kits. A big fluffy brush for powder, blush, etc. A slightly small brush for precision, contour, highlight, etc. Small eye brushes for eye shadow blending and eyebrows etc etc. So it is always better to have a basic brush kit.

10. Makeup Bag.

Mess is not good. Store all your makeup in a nice medium sized bag. Since we beginners do not have a lot of makeup, one bad is enough :P. If you store different products in different places, chances are you will loose them. Keep them in an organized way inside a bag. :)
This will also make it east for carrying around or travelling :D
